Brian has joined the club as a volunteer head coach. Brian grew up swimming on summer league teams in Birmingham and Cobb County. He started swimming year round in Birmingham and joined the Stingrays when he relocated to Atlanta. He graduated from Harrison High School in west Cobb as a multi-year letter winner and swam for LaGrange College for one season. He specialized in breaststroke and distance freestyle events during his swimming career.
During high school, Brian coached summer league swimming at Saddlebrook and Brookstone Country Club. While at LaGrange, he assisted with the Troup County Sharks year-round and summer programs and returned home to coach age-group and learn to swim programs with the Stingrays. Following an unexpected loss in 2021, Brian felt called to give back to the community by returning to coaching and is very excited for the opportunity to help build this club from the ground up.
Brian works for the City of Woodstock as its Economic Development Director and lives downtown with his wife Jennifer, who he met while coaching with Stingrays.
Coach Jennifer began her coaching journey with Star Swimming in Hamburg, NY, where she was always near the water and discovered her passion for the sport early on. In the late ‘90s, she joined Stingrays Swimming, where she met Coach Brian. She also coached the Burnt Hickory Lakes summer league team, competing against Coach Brian’s team—ask her who holds the winning record!
After stepping away to pursue other interests, Jennifer returned to coaching with the Kraken Swim Team in 2022 as a volunteer and rejoined Stingrays Swimming in 2024. When she’s not on deck, she enjoys spending time with Brian, family, and friends—you can often find them in downtown Woodstock!
Coach Amanda swam competitively from four years old through high school. She worked for five years as a lifeguard/swim instructor teaching kids from 6 months to 18+ how to swim. Amanda is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s in Elementary Education at KSU and loves to spend time outdoors with her two dogs, read, and cook/bake. She has a passion for swimming and working with kids of all ages, and is looking forward to getting to know everyone this season!
