Club Overview

Here is a brief introduction to summer league swimming!

Swimmer Commitment

Each swimmer should be prepared to attend practices and meets throughout the season. Missing a meet and some practice for previously scheduled vacations or commitments is certainly ok here and there. Active year-round swimmers can ask for exemption from club practices by attending their year-round clubs' practices on a regular basis.

Any 10&U swimmer joining the club will be required to prove that they can swim 1 lap of the pool without stopping, standing or hanging onto the lanerope or wall.

Swimmers in this age range should have a basic understanding of freestyle and backstroke, with the ability to learn breaststroke and butterfly during the season. 6&U swimmers will only swim freestyle and backstroke events. 7-8 and 9-10 swimmers will compete in individual and relay events with all four strokes.

Any 11&O swimmer joining the club must have the ability to swim 2 laps without stopping, standing or hanging onto the lanerope or wall.

11-12, 13-14, 15-18 swimmers should have a basic understanding of all four strokes and will compete in individual and relay events with all four strokes.

Practice Time Commitment

Our club will compete in a recreational swim league called Atlanta Swim Association against 5 other Cherokee County based teams during the month of June.

There will be after school conditioning starting April 29 followed by two weeks of after-school practice starting on May 8th (Mon-Thur). The Practice times will be released when registration opens. This will be followed by the Intrasquad Meet on (Thursday) May 24th, more about meets below.

Morning practices will begin the Tuesday following Memorial Day on a typical (M-TH) schedule with a team fun-day event each Friday morning following the meet.

Meet Time Commitment

Meets are once a week and begin at 6 PM. Swimmers will be required to arrive at the pool for a home meet by 4:45 or an away meet by 5:15 for warm-ups. Meets typically last until around 10 PM, with younger age groups ending earlier in the night.

Volunteer Time Commitment

Swim clubs rely heavily on parent involvement to help throughout the season, especially on meet nights. There will be a requirement for parents to volunteer for specific duties to meet the needs of the club.
